Pathology

Official Synopsis:
The creators of Crank crank up the shock value in this twisted tale of terror that combines pulse-pounding thrills with heart-stopping suspense! Ted Grey (Milo Ventimiglia) is a brilliant medical student with a promising future in forensics. But when he joins the nation's most prestigious pathology program, he unknowingly becomes a pawn in a terrifying game of death and destruction as his fellow students use their razor-sharp skills to commit unthinkable murders. When the pathological secrets of his colleagues begin to unfold, Ted quickly realizes that what he doesn't know... could kill him.

Our Take:
I knew Peter Petrelli was really a villain! If you don’t know what I’m talking about you’re not watching Heroes and you should be. But, if you’re still not watching Heroes, why not give Pathology a shot and see our hero (Milo Ventimiglia) take a dark turn down a path filled with violent sex and murder.

It all seems too obvious now but really, who better to commit the perfect murder than those doing the autopsies? They see all the mistakes that were made, they know exactly what must be done. And while Pathology isn’t so much a murder mystery movie as a “who can kill in the most creative way?” movie, the concept still remains solid.

Pathology comes from the minds of Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. This duo is most famous for bringing us the ultra stylized flick (and one of the most fun movies I’ve ever watched) in the form of Crank. Sadly, for us, they were just the writers on this flick – had they also directed it I can almost guarantee a level of fun much greater would have been brought to the table. That said, the man that did end up directing this, Mark Scholermann, is actually above average and turned in a solid horror movie.

Special features include:

* Commentary - By Director Marc Scholermann and Writers/Producers Mark Neveldine and Brain Taylor.

* Creating The Perfect Murder (15 minutes) – Learn about the life of a Pathologist.

* The Cause Of Death: A Conversation with Pathologist Craig Harvey (8 minutes).

* Unintended Consequences (2 minutes) – Music video by Legion Of Doom F/Triune.

* Extended Autopsy Scene (3 minutes).

Pathology is a movie that deserves your renting and/or purchasing. I have no doubt that this movie will find on audience on DVD as so many awful horror films seem to thrive in this market. I’m here to tell you that this is one of the few that stands out from the pack.

RECOMMENDED!
