Our Take:
I think we can all agree that now that Two and a Half Men is a People’s Choice Award winner, that means… well, nothing actually. Does anyone even pay attention to the People’s Choice Awards? What we can agree on is that Two and a Half Men is a very funny show. I’ve never been able to get as emotionally invested in it as I did shows like Friends or Frasier (maybe if it started with the letters “Fr”?), but I do enjoy it on DVD very much. It’s the kind of show I don’t keep up with when it’s on the air, but when the discs come out, I throw them in the player and have a good time with it.

The fourth season of Two and a Half Men had a bit of a marriage theme to it, at least a bit more than the usual season, that is. With divorce and engagement taking center stage in this season, the show moved into slightly more romantic territory. Sort of, anyway; I mean, this is still a Charlie Sheen show we’re talking about, folks. One of my favorite parts of the show is Jon Cryer; as a child of the 80’s I’m just really happy to see him land a solidly successful gig. I do still miss The Famous Teddy Z, though.

Two and a Half Men: The Complete Fourth Season comes with the usual array of bonus features:

* Audio Commentary - On Two Episodes By Creators Chuck Lorre & Lee Aronsohn, & Cast Members Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer, & Angus T. Jones.

* Two Men Talking About Two & A Half Men - Show Creators Share The Stories Behind Some Of The Most Outlandish Moments Of Season Four.

* Gag Reel.

Two and a Half Men features one of the best theme songs on TV, and while it’s not quite my favorite sitcom, I can see why it’s been as popular as it has for such a long time. It’s different enough from the typical family sitcom and has a sharp edge to its humor that makes it a lot of fun to watch.
